Teryn have existed since the very beginning of Vampire history, being the very keepers of it themselves. All Teryn feel a thirst as strong as the one for blood. Knowledge. All Teryn feel the call to learning, and to adding to the history of the Vampire.
Though no actual writing takes place amoung the Teryn. The lorekeepers are instead blessed with an inability to forget - a perfect memory. Centuries of knowledge and history are thus passed by down by blood, making the blood of the clan a precious resource many would love to get a taste of.
Teryn are always incredibly intelligent, backed by quick wit and resourcefulness. Their over developed minds have to over compensate for their lesser physique, as of the prodominant clans of New York, Teryn are generally the weakest. They are by no definition weak, however, still being more than capable against a human.
Teryn are often wanderers, returning to their Covens residence when they have questions only their own can answer or when seeking refuge. Otherwise, they're traveling between Covens, lending their intelligence and wit to those willing to pay for it. Many have served as advisors, researchers, peace keepers, drill instructors and teachers for newborn. What many less will profess to, however, are their roles in history as assassins and spies.
The Lorekeepers are highly reverred for their blood. But great caution must be taken when it comes to taking this blood. As great of an asset as it would be, the consequences of failure leave the Teryn Coven angered, and the secrets they hold can become a very potent weapon against anyone.
Teryn are always seeking knowledge and to be a witness of history. They don't always wish to partake in this history, but more or less find comfort in being there when it's made. They do not relish combat, instead seeking an alternative through intellect and offerings. When pressed however, a Teryn can become a crafty foe, having memories of battles past to analyze cunning battle strategies from. They prefer to attack stealthily and from a distance, and if at all possible, subdue their victim rather than slay them.
The Teryn do not often vow for physical degradation, choosing to wear their symbol in the form of jewelry such as pendants and earrings rather than marked upon their skin.
The Teryn headquarters is a bit of a mess. Scrolls and books line every hall and passage, unorganized at first glance. However, as almost every Teryn has read everything in the building, it is not so to those who call it home. The building smell of parchment and dust, as if time itself had a scent. The Teryn are also notorious artifact collecters, especially the towards the remnants of leaders past.
