Since there was deaths at the hands of Vampires, there have been those willing to fight back against them. Often men and women with a need for vengence against the Vampires, as those without reason rarely find the bravery. Ancient family vendettas get passed down through generations until the reasons why are lost, and all are driven by one purpose.
In the modern world, these people have finally banded together and started their own sort of elusive underground society, as hidden from the humans as the Vampires they swear to destroy (though the few humans who hear whispers of this society see it as a cult). These men and women spend night and day tracking Vampires and learning their where-abouts, always plotting their attacks. The Numot are careful not to expose Vampires, just as they themselves are. The Numot know all too well what their exposure may do to the world.
Though these Humans are outclassed in both speed and strength, they do haev compensation. They spend years practicing against targets faster than themselves, learning to anticipate blows moving faster than their own. Ingenuity of craft combined with rapid advancements in technology have also helped in their struggle, as the Vampires have many known weaknesses to exploit.
Numot are all very different from each other, a result of ecclectic backrounds and teachers, fighting styles and weaponry choices. Most are hasty to take on a Vampire themselves to avenge a fallen friend or family member.
Strangely, the Numot are on neutral terms with the Aranai, for the most part. The Numot see their attempts at preserving Humans and their society, and choose to leave them alone. The Aranai are more often cleaning up the mess that their kin leave behind, much as the Numot do. Younger members of this order rarely feel this way, seeing all Vampires as the enemy, but the older, wiser members, often turn a blind eye.
As humans vary so intensely, the manner to which they carry their clans symbol also varies. What does not change, is that they all wear it proudly, and do not hesitate to make it known to Vampires who they are.
The headquarters of the Numot is a very complex one. It serves many functions, each floor to a different one. The first floor is most of a refuge, a place where wounded are treated and can rest. There is another floor for weaponry and training, another for entertainment, sleeping and eating. There is also a basement area where the Numot try to keep records of their actions and the world changing around them, but it is difficult at the rate that things are changing.
