VAMPIRE TRAITS !
- They don't sparkle.
- Vampires dissintegrate in sunlight. Any part of their body that is touched by sunlight is irreversibly burned, and should they exist in it for more than a few second, it consumes them.
- Vampires are undead.
- Vampires grow in speed and strength exponentially as they age. While the difference isn't drastic until the ages get far into the hundreds, it does make a difference combined with the traits of their Coven, sometimes.
- A human that is sired (biten, transformed into a Vampire) bears the scent of the Coven of the one who sired them, and they are infused with an affinity for their clan. It is extremely rare for someone to reject their Coven before meeting them because of this.
- One sires a human through a bite. The closer the bite is to a a major artery or bloodvein (such as the neck or stomach) the shallower the bite needs to be, and the less time that needs to be spent biting the victim. This happens through a venom that a Vampire injects through the bite. This venom evaporates if it comes in contact with nitrogen, or if it spends more than a few seconds outside of someones body.
- A Vampire must have a least a quart of blood of a living creature per day to function regularily. They can go a maximum of a week without suffering any penalty. As long as a sufficient feeding was acheived within the week, the Vampire is fine. Otherwise, the Vampire begins to grow weak and restless. Its mind is slowly consumed by the thought of blood until it loses all control of itself, seeking blood even if it means personal endangerment (such as moving in sunlight). Once it has fed, it gains control of itself immediatly.
- Vampires regenerate in perfect darkness. In one hour, any lost limbs (head excluded) will regenerate to exactly the way they were.
- Vampires do have blood flowing through them. Losing too much blood will result in dizziness and fainting, as with humans. However, losing 'too much' blood can not result in death.
- Poisons and infections have no effect upon a Vampire, though they can still be a carrier for many such things.
- Memories are stored in a Vampires blood. If one Vampire drinks anothers blood, recent events will flow into the drinker as if they were their own memories. The older the Vampire the blood is taken from, the further back 'recent events' will go.
- Vampires need not breath, so they can exist in toxic situation and underwater.
- Vampires are immune to the effects of water pressure.
- Garlic gives all Vampires pause. They will not go near it. If forcefully injested, the Vampire is stricken with extreme pain and nausea until a few minutes after it has all been removed from the body.
- Holy Water will cause burns equivilant to acid. If the Holy Water strikes clothing or another possession of the Vampire, so long as it is on the Vampires person, it burns just the same.
- Crushed Hawthorne plant or leaf extract cause excrutiating pain, often enough to bring a Vampire to its knees.
- Items blessed by a priest, in particular a Cross, cause excrutiating pain, in varying intensities.
- Vampires cast no shadow.
- Vampires have no reflection.
- Vampires are sterile.
- A wooden stake to the heart or decapitation kill a Vampire outright. A Vampire can be subdued much like a regualr person, but will not die unless one of these conditions are met (or they are exposed to sunlight).
- Vampires are incredibly quick, agile, and strong, and completely outclass a human in every way. This is not to say a well trained human can not challenge a Vampires skill, only that it is very difficult.
- They still don't sparkle.
- A Vampire who willingly and knowingly falls from a height that would kill a regular human, and lands upon its feet, will be unharmed. However, if any of the three conditions are not met, the Vampire will most likely die.
- There are no half Vampires.
- And seriously, they don't sparkle.
