Night. The time when the sun was no longer visible and all that remained was the moon, stars, and the darkened sky. It was all he was able to experience now, the only time he could really live. He did miss the sun, but there was little that he could do about it unless he wanted to die. Perhaps someone in his position might have ended it early on, becoming something that was so hated and which he use to hunt. Now he did not really care if he hunted them or not, he only did what he felt he needed to do to get by on his own. That should not be what life was about though, he knew that, but he could not find something useful to do besides to keep searching. One day he would find that vampire. He was promised that they would meet again after all and he will find out what his place in the world was then. Until then he would keep on living, keep on surviving until the last of his energy was spent. That was how life was, right?
The docks were a place that D could often be found now, if only so that he could stare out at the water as the moonlight glittered off its surface. It looked like a sea of blackness with sparkles of white dancing on the waves right where the moon lingered above. Even some of the colorful lights of the city could be reflected off the moving water. Mixing this scene with the stars above really did make it quite a sight, one would often caused him to linger by the water and stare deep in thought. D was still in the midst of establishing himself in the city. Having no contacts here really had its drawbacks, but knowing no one did give him an advantage of mysteriousness. There would be no real information on him and he could wander about with little trouble so long as no one found out what he was. He knew of the different clans, covens or whatever they were called. He had not been approached by any of them yet, but he took that as a sign that they did not know of his existence yet. Perhaps a good thing.
The wind blew his hair back behind him, causing his hand to rise to the brim of his hat to be sure it stayed on in the strong breeze which extended out from the water. He did not wear anything too suspicious, just a simple outfit since he really was not expecting to have to deal with anything tonight. Of course that did not mean he was defenseless, he did still carry his smaller weapons on him just in case. Though he would prefer not to create a mess on his clothes, a black button up shirt with long sleeves, a dark pair of nice pants, and some nice black shoes which were all shined up. D allowed his yes to close for a moment in thought, wondering just what he was going to do now. “I should probably find a job or something,” he muttered to himself, “if only to relieve me of the monotony I've been recently experiencing..” Every night seemed like he was just doing the same things all the time, but that was bound to happen when one lived for as long as he had.
