APPEARANCE:

Though small, Gwyn is by no means unremarkable. Her skin is a beautiful tawny that remains lustrous despite the innumerable amount of time she invests in the lab. The woman's frame is small, yet agile, her thin hands being capable of a work load far beyond what one would assume. In the field, she often wears clothing that would best blend with the crowd, but is never without arms. They're locations, however, are not easily detectable. In the lab, she is draped in a ivory lab coat. Often, as subjects emerge from a drug sleep and verge on death, they look to her, both human and vampire a like, and ask if she is the angel that will carry them away from their suffering.

WEAPONRY:

While Gwyn could be attempting to field test any number of classified and dangerous FEAR technologies, she is never without two weapons in particular. The first being a blessed dagger, stealthily concealed against her left thigh, which, if lodged in a vampire, will immobilize them with wracking pain. The second is a handful of tiny flash bombs hidden somewhere on her person at any given time. When they detonate they both disorient humans who look into the black and sear vampires near the blast.

EQUIPMENT:

AEGIS: (Advanced Energy Generator and Ionic Shield) A device that is linked with Gwyn's nervous system. It is designed to protect her from any harm that should come her way by ionizing nearby matter and shocking it with huge amounts of energy, effectively vaporizing it. Due to its huge energy requirement, it can only activate a few times in a period of five minutes and slowly will regenerate its power in the dark, but quickly in direct light. Because of the volatile nature and tendency of test subjects to blow circuits from overuse, the device cannot be activated manually and instead engages as part of a spontaneous alert, being controlled like a reflex. The device is still unreliable and will not work properly all the time.

POISON CHAMBERS: All of Gwyn's jewelry is outfitted with hidden chambers in which to conceal a multitude of items. Usually, they just contain reagents like hawthorn and holy water. Sometimes they contain blinding powder, acids, survival powders, micro flash bombs and genetic serums. Her heels are outfitted with chambers to conceal knives and other awful tools.

"LAZ" TABLET: FEAR's take on a cell phone, all operatives are equipped with a "Laz" Tablet, "Laz" being the name affectionately given to the artificial intelligence, Lazarus, which raised FEAR from the ashes of destruction in late 2005. The tablet can produce untraceable calls and compute a huge variety of miscellaneous tasks. 5x3 inches

ABILITY:

Due to Gwyn's hasty transformation into a vampire, her robotic implants were assimilated as flesh. She exhibits state-of-the-art targeting abilities similar to her robots and can deal critical strikes more easily than most. In addition to her ability to critically hit, her vision is able to "zoom in," letting her see great distances.

Because of the circumstances of her being sired, Gwyn is genetically identical to Alice Crysis. Gwyn is nearly unfazed by sunlight for up to ten minutes and can control her need to drink as strictly as an elder vampire.

Various projects by FEAR can also result in Gwyn experiencing other colorful abilities, but the above remain constant.

A lot is expected of a person with a 220 IQ, and if anybody could of handled it, it would have been Gwyn. Her unprecedented genius has turned her into a well of productivity. “Can’t” is not in her vernacular and because of this, Gwyn has been able to work miracles, being responsible for nearly 30% of all of FEAR’s currently employed technologies. But with all the success, it is only natural for the woman to become egotistical. Everybody is beneath her and Gwyn lets them know it quite often with passive aggressive remarks.

However, she is a skilled diplomat when it is perfectly necessary, as she is able to project herself as the charming “All-American girl.” But what she so cleverly hides is her insatiable thirst for knowledge and legendary cruelty and detachment. It has long since been her favorite to press the termination button on the command console for superfluous test subjects. Sometimes she even went in and finished them off personally if they were particularly difficult.

As a leader, she isn’t much different. Gwyn treats all her “underlings”, as she calls them, with feigned sincerity and sweetness. There are moments when she will associate herself with her employees, especially when morale is low, as being in Gwyn’s good graces are always remarkably magnificent to be. However, she is quite serious about protecting her underlings, as any life lost to the unwashed and blood hungry masses is a tragedy of immense proportions.

HISTORY:

Gwyneth was always brilliant. She was hailed as a genius since six months old. She sailed through school, completing her entire high school career in less than five years. Regardless of what was thrown at her, Gwyn could absorb it and retain it, the pinnacle of mental prowess. FEAR took notice of her from age fourteen, offering to train her in the sciences under the guise of the “Northern Reaches Institute for the Gifted” at age sixteen. Of course, it was all an elaborate façade orchestrated to condition and educate young Gwyn. When she graduated at the age of eighteen, she had completed the coursework equivalent to three PHDs: one in chemistry, physics and genetics. Isaac Soto invited her to join FEAR upon graduation, claiming he represented Soto Futuristic, a military science company running off grants from the government. She obliged.

What happened over the next nine years is hazy and not well recorded, but a few things are certain. Firstly, Gwyn led FEAR’s science department in PROJECT LAZARUS, an attempt at creating a semi-aware artificial intelligence that was praised by most all of her higher-ups. Secondly, Soto became fearful that Gwyn might steal his job and created a sub faction within the departments, comprised mainly of brown nosing scientists who wanted a go at Soto’s job themselves. Next, Soto’s paranoia led to an uproar in Department: Delta of FEAR laboratories. For nearly three hours, a virtual civil war took place that shut down worldwide operations for nearly a month with the destruction of the department. In the chaos, thirty-five employees were killed and Soto was mysteriously assassinated with a stab wound to the back. Finally, PROJECT LAZARUS came to a close as Lazarus was officially put online, rocketing FEAR to a new level of technological superiority.

The council used Gwyn as a consultant for nearly five years until they repositioned her in Department: Epsilon in December of 2010. By late January, the then department head turned up dead by poison. Gwyn was immediately filed as the new leader.
